Ascenso Tires Hosts Field Day in Idaho, Showcasing Cutting-Edge VF Tire Technology and CTIS On the Go Tire Inflation System Advantages

VF Tire Technology Takes Center Stage at Ascenso Tires Field Day in Idaho

Ascenso Tires, in partnership with Wickel Tires and Precision Inflation, hosted an interactive VF Tire Technology Field Day to demonstrate the real-world benefits of VF (Very High Flexion) tire technology and Central Tire Inflation Systems (CTIS) for modern farming.

Held in Burley, Idaho, the event welcomed farmers, tire dealers, and farming professionals to experience firsthand how Ascenso’s innovative tire solutions, including the VDR 900 and VDR 2000, can significantly reduce soil compaction, improve traction, and enhance overall operational efficiency.

“We’re proud to host Ascenso and bring together farmers and industry professionals to showcase the real-world advantages of VF technology in the field,” said Jesse Wickel, Owner of Wickel Tires. “Our customers had the opportunity to see firsthand how VF tires and the CTIS system improve ride quality, reduce soil compaction, and leave a noticeably even footprint—making a measurable difference in field performance.”

Interactive Demonstrations Highlight VF Tire Technology’s Multiple Advantages

Attendees engaged in a series of hands-on demonstrations featuring a John Deere 8345R tractor to illustrate the following:

  • Footprint Test: Participants observed the soil footprint left by tractor tires at varying inflation pressures (minimum VF field, nominal, and optimal higher road), revealing the stark contrast in soil compaction. This illustrated how VF tires maintain load capacity with 40% lower inflation pressure. The benefits of Ascenso’s Steel Belted tires with CTIS were evident in this test.

  • Optimal Field Inflation: The tractor was driven through fields at minimum VF field pressure, showcasing minimal soil disturbance and strong load-bearing performance with up to 20% greater traction due to the larger footprint. A tire cut section was displayed to explain the internal structure enabling this capability.
  • Pressure Test: Experts guided attendees through calculating optimal tire pressure based on measuring the axle loads and demonstrated how pressure affects load-carrying capability.
  • Speed Test: The tractor was driven at maximum permissible speed (30 mph) with VF tires inflated to their higher optimal pressure on the road, highlighting increased fuel economy, stability, and longer tire life over improperly inflated tires and slower and costly track systems.
  • CTIS Demonstration: Precision Inflation representative, Ken Brodbeck, walked participants through CTIS features, emphasizing real-time pressure adjustments for field and road conditions.

Integrated Solutions for Modern Farming

Ascenso VF Tire Inflation“Precision Inflation’s On-the-Go Tire Inflation System unlocks the full potential of Ascenso VF steel-belted tires—letting them float across fields, pull like a locomotive, and fly down the road,” said Ken Brodbeck of Precision Inflation. “These advantages put more money in your pocket by lowering input costs and increasing yield! When margins are tight, CTIS with VF technology can make the difference between being in the red or the black.”

Moveero, Inc. attended the event to discuss the different rim options designed to complement VF tire technology, offering insights into durability and compatibility. Ascenso Tires offers NRO (narrow rim options) in addition to the standard rim option, which allows you to put in VF tires with existing rims.

To round out the day, attendees enjoyed a complimentary lunch, giving everyone a chance to connect, share insights, and continue conversations about the future of farming technology in a relaxed setting.VF CTIS On the Go Inflation System

“As a recognized leader in tire manufacturing, Ascenso is committed to equipping farmers not only with cutting-edge VF tires, but with the complete ecosystem needed to drive growth and efficiency,” said Ryan Lopes, Vice President of Marketing and Business Strategy at Ascenso. “Our partnerships with Precision Inflation and Moveero allowed us to present a fully integrated solution during our roadshow, giving farmers the insights and tools that improve yield and operational performance. The CTIS rebate program is a meaningful step toward making advanced agricultural technology more accessible and impactful for the farming community.”

Making Tire Technology Accessible

Ascenso Tires is helping farmers get more from their land and equipment by making tire technology easier to understand and apply. The VF Field Day gave attendees a hands-on look at how the right tire pressure and setup can make a big difference in field performance, reduce soil damage, and improve long-term yields.
